You can use HistoryTrail without location access by searching for markers by place name, though the "nearby" feature requires location permission.

Historical marker information displayed in the app comes from The Historical Marker Database (HMdb.org), a volunteer-maintained public resource. When you tap through to view full marker details, you are visiting HMdb.org directly, and their privacy policy applies to that interaction.
HistoryTrail stores your favorites and preferences locally on your device. This data:
When you request directions to a marker, HistoryTrail hands off to Apple Maps or your default maps application. The navigation occurs entirely within that application, and their privacy policies apply.
HistoryTrail does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13.
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated through the App Store update notes.
